Later that day the conference was unofficially opened with the picnic at the Ob lake beach session; for privacy reasons we will not list the names of the participants visible on these shots The official opening dinner on 09/07/03; they even managed to get enough food for the vegetarians Outside where the music was less loud: Wolfgang, Stephen, Simona, Bernd and Natalia

Pavel, Andrei and Denis; they were local compiler constructors but nevertheless seriously interested in program verification In the front Volker and Tatiana Michailovna; in the back Jean, nn, nn, nn and Kees The opening party was supposed to end at 24.00, however they kicked everybody out at 23.15 so we had to go to the local supermarket to buy some drinks (Vodka, fanta, beer and some milk) to continue our private conversation outside Valery, Pavel, Tatiana Michailovna, Volker, Andrei and Roland On the way to Lavrentev's house we passed the house of the current director of the Siberian Branch of Russian Academy of Sciences, 10/11/03

Anna is translating to us that Lavrentev didn't like his second house and went back to his first house If you try really hard you might be able to see some parts of this first house The second house is now in use as a museum Operating the Besm computer

Me, behind Lenin And this is what the second house looks like Our means of transportation to Goluboi Osero, the Blue Lake Hotel Zolotaya Dolina; according to Kees Koster the KGB had its own secret floor here, which should explain why you have to go up two stairs to go from first to second floor
