| Is this the Cathedral of Alexander Nevski? |

100 years Transsiberia Express |
The first bridge over the Ob, which marked the foundation of Novosibirsk 110 years ago |
And this is what they are planning here... |

 |
| The new bridge and the only part they kept from the original old bridge |
I think it says something like 'On April 28, 1982, Novosibirsk was given the Order of Lenin by the presidium of the Upper Soviet' |
The metro bridge |
These playgrounds are basically the same as the ones I have seen in Moscow, Petersburg, Sarataov, Omsk and Cheboksary; the only difference is that someone decided to paint all of these playgrounds in Akademgorodok with these set of colours very recently |
Can anybody tell me why they have an English shelter here? |

| The famous wooden church in Akademgorodok (Church of all holies in the earth of Russia?) |
|
|
Just behind the old one, they started building a new one |

 |
| This is the background information on this new church |
These girls were supposed to work on the reconstruction of the old church (very important: inside there were like five buckets on the floor to collect the water leaking through the roof) but they were only playing with their hammers to impress me when I was walking around here; I had to leave and come back quietly in order to catch them working |
This is five minutes after the rain started; so far they hadn't had any rain this summer... |
Tropical rain in Akademgorodok; the van already broke down because of the water |
I did bring my umbrella this day, but unfortunately this didn't help my shoes when I had to walk on sidewalks like this one |

| The informatics institute, named after Andrei Petrovitsj Ershov |
The main entrance |
The athletics stadium; I had been here during a training session when it was dry, but also at that time the black rubber surface was pretty slippery; too dangerous to train seriously |
Only on a small part of the wing of this Tupolev 154M you can see that it is raining when we were leaving Novosibirsk on our way to Petersburg |
